Mandatory Senior Meeting
We will have a mandatory senior meeting Tuesday, April 26th during 3rd period. Students are to report to their 3rd period class for attendance first. After attendance has been taken, all seniors should be released to report to the main gym. We will be sharing important graduation information and updates.
Annual Registration is Open
Annual Registration for the 2022-2023 school year is open.
Each year all families must complete the Annual Registration process. Please visit the Richland 2 website to see step-by-step instructions for completing your registration in PowerSchool. Please complete your registration as soon as possible to prevent schedule delays next school year for your student(s).
You will need to access your Parent Portal and click Annual Registration. You will be able to verify all the student information and upload proof of residency required to complete the process. Below are details related to the information you will need for Annual Registration.

School Climate Student Survey – April 26, 2022
On Tuesday, April 26, 2022, we will be administering the annual School Climate Student Survey to all students during our 3rd period classes. The S.C. Department of Education now requires all students in Grades 3-12 to take this survey, which is used in rating schools in the state. There are no right or wrong answers. Students will read each question or statement and pick the best answer. Students will be using their Chromebooks to complete the survey. This survey is not about a particular teacher, subject or class but it is about your overall experience while at SVHS. It is very important that you provide honest answers so that we have good information to help us improve as a school.
The overall school bell schedule will not be adjusted on Tuesday, April 26th, students will follow the normal Green Week schedule for that day. Additional information about how to access the survey will be provided to students via email and from their 3rd period teacher on Tuesday.

Kiss A Senior Goodbye
Show your favorite seniors how much you’ll miss them by purchasing a gift of Hershey’s Kisses and a personal note! Buy a $1 candy bag from any Key Club member from Tuesday, April 26th, through Friday, May 6th! All proceeds will contribute to Key Club service projects!

Youth Core Features Kaelyn Hartwell
Freshman Kaelyn Hartwell was recognized as Youth Core’s featured participant at the yearly fundraise luncheon. Kaelyn is currently a Freshman. Youth Corps is a life-changing leadership development experience for 36 outstanding 9th and 10th grade students in Richland & Lexington Counties of South Carolina. Students undergo one year of experiential leadership modules so that they can become equipped to be leaders in their schools, communities, and beyond. https://www.youthcorps.net/
Volleyball Interest Meeting
STUCO Elections
Due to a glitch in the original application and the lack of responses, we have extended the application deadline for STUCO officer positions. The new application deadline is May 3rd. The new campaign week will be May 9-12th with Elections taking place on Friday; May 13th. Please fill out this application if you have interest in running for a class officer position for the 2022-2023 school year. Remember that if you are a current class officer and plan to run for an officer position next year, you do need your advisor to sign off. For Freshman and Sophomores, that would be Ryan Shelton and for Juniors that would be Victoria Curtis.

Seniors, it is that time!!! You can begin making your nominations for this year’s senior superlatives. First and Last names must be included on the form. The deadline for this is May 6th, so the results can be tallied. The top 2/3 will be added to a final voting form. Please email rshetlon@richland2.org with any questions.
SENIOR SLIDESHOW
Submissions for the Senior Slideshow will be accepted starting April 1st. This is one of the highlights of the Senior Assembly. The cost for submission is $3 for one photo and $5 for three photos. Payment can be made to Ms. Bouchey in C-222. In the past seniors have turned in a series of pictures – baby, middle years, and a current picture – or some friend pics. No selfies! The deadline for submission is April 28th, but the sooner they are submitted, the better! **Please note that Ms. Bouchey will be out of town the week of April 18-22 so please plan accordingly. Senior Drop-In
Richland Library invites local high school seniors to drop in at one of our 5 participating locations between April 11 and April 30 to celebrate Decision Day. Students can grab a friend and snap a picture with college or career-focused books while wearing college t-shirts or holding acceptance letters. Seniors will also have access to a #DecisionDay2022 prop as well.

Sparkleberry Lane Construction
We wanted to let all of our families know that we will be experiencing some traffic issues on Sparkleberry Lane in front of the school over the next 2-3 months. Richland County will be making updates to the gas lines, storm drains, and adding sidewalks. Work crews will do their best to minimize the impact to arrival and departure times at school. If you are a car rider or student driver, we strongly encourage you to arrive early to school to make sure you are on time for class.
After School Tutoring
We will offer both on-campus and virtual tutoring options this year. Offering both platforms allows us to provide more options for students to get academic assistance after school. Please visit the SVHS Tutoring website for a complete schedule of the tutoring opportunities.
