SV Raiders Begin the Season with a Win!

The Spring Valley JROTC Raider Team competed last Saturday at Liberty High School in the Red Devil Challenge. Our cadets competed against 13 other schools, in a series of grueling strengths of feat and endurance across the campus. Spring Valley’s all male team earned first team honors for the first time in this particular competition, while the mixed team earned third place honors.

Powered with 10 veterans from last year, the Raiders have continued their winning streak from last year. The Raiders next competition will be in Charleston at Fort Dorchester in November.
Viking Boys Swimming Wins Blue Devil Invitational

On Sunday, September 24, the Spring Valley Boys Swim Team took home the championship trophy from the Blue Devil Invitational. Blue Devil Invitational is a meet co-hosted by Dreher High School and Cardinal Newman School at the Blatt P.E. Center on the campus of the University of South Carolina.
The boys from Spring Valley defeated 26 other Midlands area schools to bring home the win. The Spring Valley Girls Swim Team placed 6th among the field of 27 schools. The teams had several top 10 finishes to lead them to victory.
Some of the most notable swims from the day include a 1st place finish in the Boys 200 Yard Medley Relay with seniors Andrew May, JoJo Frye, Patrick Quirk, and Isaiah Grant; a 1st place finish for JoJo Frye in the Boys 200 Yard Individual Medley, a 2nd place finish for Ellis Murray in the Girls 100 Yard Backstroke, and a 2nd place finish for Patrick Quirk in the Boys 100 Yard Backstroke. Congratulations, Vikings!
