“Join the brand-new Programming Club at Spring Valley High School! All students are welcome, no matter if you are a newcomer to programming or if you are already a coding aficionado. Yearbook Pictures for all 9th-11th graders

It is almost time for yearbook pictures for all 9th, 10th, and 11th graders. Yearbook pictures will be taken on the following days: A-Day Students – Tuesday, Dec. 1 in the Multi-Purpose Room (appoints will be received through English class) B-Day Students – Wednesday, Dec. 2 in the Multi-Purpose Room (appoints will be received through English class) Virtual Students – Friday, Dec. 4 in SV Lobby (enter through the front door). No appointment needed, just arrive anytime between 9 am – 4pm. See Flyer above for more details.

Where Are Your Textbooks?

Students! Where Are Your Textbooks ?

If you did not turn in last years textbooks, make sure to get those back to Spring Valley as soon as possible by bringing them to the Main Office. Textbooks that are not turned in will be added to your student fees. Avoid being charged for your textbooks by making sure you return them to Spring Valley!

Richland School District Two Virtual Choice Fair

Location: Wherever! The Choice Fair is all virtual.

Registration: Parents are encouraged to register and registration is now open! The link is: rsd2choice.vfairs.com.

Date: Dec. 1 & 2.

Live Chats: Families will be able to chat LIVE with reps from schools during the Choice Fair, which means they won’t have to struggle to hear over hundreds of people talking in a gym or multipurpose room.

Watch Presentations Later: Parents can’t get off work? Can’t find a babysitter? No problem! Another perk of this new experience is that the presentations will be available online for 30 days AFTER the Choice Fair.

Help the National Honor Society and Winter Days with This Garbage Can of a T-shirt

You may remember that back in March, remote learning didn’t exist and the National Honor Society was a week away from our Trashion Show that we put on every year to raise money for local food banks. Literally, the day that school was cancelled, our order of 130 t-shirts arrived at Spring Valley. Fortunately, they say “Trashion Show 2020” so we can still sell them for another six weeks in celebration of our remote/virtual Trashion Show.

Originally, NHS was going to donate the profits from the sale of the t-shirts to the Souper Bowl of Caring. Now, we will donate all proceeds from the sale, including our cost, to Winter Days. We know that there are many people in need and the usual Winter Days can drive will be more challenging than ever. Please consider buying a t-shirt and helping Winter Days reach their goals this year.

We will also be selling Trashion Show mugs for $10 to support Winter Days. The mugs are made by students in our employability class, a class that prepares students with exceptional needs for life after high school. The name of their company is Dragon Designs and they can help you with your design needs. By purchasing from them, you are helping our students meet their 350 hour requirement to earn their employability certificate.

If you think our logo is too “trashy,” you may also donate directly to our cause by simply donating in $10 increments. If we sell out of the t-shirts in your size we will refund your money or give you the option of being part of a reorder if there is enough interest. Thank you in advance for your support.
