Congratulations Mrs. Layne Siceloff!
On September 30, 2021, Layne (Bee) Siceloff was inducted into the E.L. Bowsher High School Athletic Hall of Fame, along with her former teammates and coaches. Mrs. Siceloff played first base on the 2001 softball team that won the first-ever City Championship title not only for Bowsher High School (Toledo, Ohio) but also for Toledo Public Schools. The life lessons learned from her time as a student-athlete molded her into the educator she is today.

Donate to Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF through Key Club!
This week, Key Club members will be gathering donations for Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF! Funds raised from Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF will be going towards The Eliminate Project, which supports the elimination of maternal and neonatal tetanus. Donations can be put in any Key Club member’s orange box that they will be carrying around throughout the week! All donations are greatly appreciated!
Quarter 1 Report Cards
We have officially finished the first quarter of the 2021-2022 school year. We appreciate the hard work from all of our teachers and students during the first quarter of the year. Teachers are busy finishing grading assignments and finalizing first quarter grades. Quarter 1 report cards will be handed out to students during their third-period classes on Thursday, October 28th.  We also encourage our parents to regularly check the Parent Portal for current grade information.Â
NCAA Eligibility
SAT/ACT WORKSHOP
The SAT/ ACT preparation course through Attest Test Prep is being offered this school year. It takes place on November 16th, 2021 in person. The session is from 8:45 a.m.- 1:26 p.m. The concepts covered are Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Pre Calculus Grammatical Writing, Evidence-Based Reading & Writing. Students will have breaks throughout and a half-hour lunch break. Students can bring a lunch or bagged lunch will be provided. Students attending the session will receive an excused absence for their participation. There are 75 slots available social distancing guidelines will be followed. FIRST COME FIRST SERVE!

Green & Gold Literary Magazine
The Green & Gold, Spring Valley’s Literary Magazine, is accepting submissions of writing (poetry and prose) and art for its Fall 2021 edition. We are moving to a digital format for the first time this year! The Green & Gold staff is my Advanced Writer’s Workshop (The Sequel to Creative Writing) class.
