Congratulations to Taylor Manning!

Taylor Manning a Spring Valley, junior and her horse, The Aviator “Ava”, competed in both the 2021 South Carolina State Fair Equine Scholarship Competition and the South Carolina State Fair Youth Horse Show on October 15th-17th.
The scholarship competition took place over two days and awards were based on an applicant’s combined scores in the following areas: resume, cover letter, knowledge assessment, industry committee interview, and two equestrian skills assessment events (showmanship and horsemanship). Taylor and Ava finished with the top scores for this competition and were awarded a $2,000 scholarship provided by the S.C. Farm Bureau Federation.
On Saturday, during the SC State Fair Youth Horse Show, Taylor and Ava earned two first place awards and one second place award in their flat classes and were ultimately pinned Champion for the Hunter Division. The pair continued their winning streak on Sunday, claiming first place ribbons in both of their 2’6” jumping classes!
Taylor has been riding and competing in horse shows for about ten years and trains at Longcreek Equestrian Centre under the guidance of Liz Mull. Congratulations Taylor!
