PSAT REMINDERS
This Fall, all third year Juniors will have the opportunity to participate in the CollegeBoard PSAT/NMSQT on Thursday, October 26th. This Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test is a standardized test that is co-sponsored by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation in the United States. The test will measure the students knowledge and skill in reading, writing and math. Students who take the PSAT/NMSQT may meet the requirements to enter the National Merit Scholarship Program, an academic competition for recognition and scholarships.
As juniors, this assessment is optional and the cost will not be covered by the District or the State. The cost for the test is $18. Any student who may be interested in completing this assessment as a Junior must sign up for the opportunity. If you would like to take the NMSQT this Fall you must complete, the google form sent to you by Mr. Dundr by Monday, August 28th at 8am. Failure to do so will result in the inability to test. If you have any questions, please contact the School Testing Coordinator, Mr. Joshua Dundr.

The EAO club is a club that works to help and inspire others to take care of the environment while also having fun! If this sounds like something you’d enjoy, please come to the interest meeting in D204 this Friday during lunch!
National English Honors Society
Society of Odin at Spring Valley Application
You can be a charter member of the Society of Odin if you meet the following criteria:
- Juniors
- Must have completed at least 1 year of honors English
- Must be enrolled in either Honors or AP during junior year
- Must have an overall GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale
- Must have a 3.5 combined GPA on a 4.0 scale in previous English classes
- Seniors
- Must have completed at least 2 years of honors or AP English
- Must be enrolled in honors, AP or dual enrollment during senior year
- Must have an overall GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale
- Must have a 3.5 combined GPA on a 4.0 scale in previous English classes
All applicants must complete this online application and submit an unofficial transcript to verify grades and GPA.
Application
As members of the Society of Odin, you will be required to participate in at least one service project and two community events planned by the group.If you fulfill membership obligations, you will be eligible for a graduation cord. There is a one time fee of $35 for your membership
