WIN Testing March 28th

On Tuesday, March 28th we are conducting the WIN Test ( a state-mandated Career readiness test ) for all third-year high school students. We will be following an alternative schedule this day. Testing will only be in the morning that day and students will attend their classes after testing is completed. The school day will begin at the normal 8:50 am that day, with Early Bird classes meeting at 7:40 am.
- 1st, 2nd, and 4th-year students will be participating in a variety of activities that morning related to college and career readiness, motivational guest speaker, and more.
- All 3rd-year students will be taking the WIN Test a state-mandated career readiness test (refer to the email sent to students about this assessment).
We will send an exact schedule for afternoon classes once testing has concluded on March 28th. If you have any questions concerning WIN Testing please contact Mr. Joshua Dundr, Assistant Principal at jdundr@richland2.org

Viking Teacher & Classified Employee of the Month of January, February & March



Spring Valley “Teacher of the Month” program is designed to recognize teachers who are making a profound and positive difference in the lives of our students. Each month during the school year Spring Valley students, teachers, parents, and staff are given a chance to vote for a teacher and explain how that teacher has made an impact on them. Congratulations to the “Teacher of the Month” for January Ms. Sandra O’Dell, February Mr. Rob Wells, and for March Mr. Franklin Davis.



Spring Valley “Classified Employee of the Month” program is designed to recognize a classified employee who has gone beyond the call of duty. The teachers and staff voted and the winner for January Pamela Dozier, February Ronald Zimmerman, and for March Mrs. Shanita Seymore.

Spring Valley HOSA Students Shine at the State Leadership Conference

Twenty-three HOSA-Future Health Professionals members attended the State Leadership
Conference in North Charleston March 15th -17th . These students had the opportunity to visit
exhibitors and learn more about college and career opportunities in the healthcare field. In
addition, they competed in various events designed to test their knowledge and skills in health-
related tasks. Congratulations to the following members who earned awards in their events!
Students who finished first, second, or third have the opportunity to compete at the HOSA
International Leadership Conference in Dallas, TX in June. The Spring Valley HOSA club is
sponsored by Dr. Michelle Wyatt.

Our own SV Mock Trial team competed in the state competition and ended being awarded the 6th place team in the state of SC.

Applications for new membership are now being accepted for the 2023-2024 school year. Becoming a member of the Spring Valley Chapter of The National Honor Society is a challenging but rewarding opportunity for you to showcase your talents in service and leadership. Seniors will have the opportunity to apply for a NHS scholarship for college. This year a Spring Valley member received a $3200 scholarship!

Power Forward Program

4th Quarter Junior Privilege

A second-semester junior is eligible for off-campus lunch provided that he/she meets specific qualifications and does not violate school policies pertaining to the Responsibilities Earns Privileges Program. Once earning the privilege to leave campus at lunch, the student will forfeit it for the remainder of the year if she/he is suspended for any reason or earns a D or F at the end of the grading period. “Junior Privilege” does not entitle student-parking privileges. Any student leaving campus is expected to represent Spring Valley High School in an exemplary manner characteristic of Viking behavior and academics.
