Cupcakes for Success

The Freshman Academy of Spring Valley presented its “Cupcakes for Success” program. All freshmen had an opportunity to get a free cupcake if they made 77% or above in all their courses on their second quarter report card. Congratulations on a job well done!

Key Club Anti-Bullying Month

Throughout October, Key Club hosted several activities to encourage students of Spring Valley to stand up against bullying and promote kindness! Wednesday morning, Key Club members wrote encouraging and kind messages along the sidewalks of Spring Valley!

Poetry Reading

Mrs. Jennifer Boykin, who uses the pen name Jennifer Bartell, will be having a virtual reading for the Furious Flower Poetry Center on October 29th at 2 p.m.

Donate to Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF through Key Club!

This week, Key Club members will be gathering donations for Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF! Funds raised from Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF will be going towards The Eliminate Project, which supports the elimination of maternal and neonatal tetanus. Donations can be put in any Key Club member’s orange box that they will be carrying around throughout the week! All donations are greatly appreciated!

NCAA Eligibility


The SAT/ ACT preparation course through Attest Test Prep is being offered this school year. It takes place on November 16th, 2021 in person. The session is from 8:45 a.m.- 1:26 p.m. The concepts covered are Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Pre Calculus Grammatical Writing, Evidence-Based Reading & Writing. Students will have breaks throughout and a half-hour lunch break. Students can bring a lunch or bagged lunch will be provided. Students attending the session will receive an excused absence for their participation. There are 75 slots available social distancing guidelines will be followed. FIRST COME FIRST SERVE!

The Spring Valley Women’s Soccer program is raising money to help pay for equipment and new gear for the upcoming soccer season. A portion of each sale goes directly to the Varsity and JV Women’s Soccer Team. Please consider buying a HoneyBaked gift card. Green & Gold Literary Magazine

The Green & Gold, Spring Valley’s Literary Magazine, is accepting submissions of writing (poetry and prose) and art for its Fall 2021 edition. We are moving to a digital format for the first time this year! The Green & Gold staff is my Advanced Writer’s Workshop (The Sequel to Creative Writing) class.
Students can submit via the Google Form link on the flyer.
