Social Worker Appreciation Week

Happy Social Work Appreciation week to Mrs. Veneisa Johnson! In her role as school social worker Veneisa is able to light the way, emphasizing the whole child, collaborating with other professionals, linking students and families with needed services, and advocating for all school social workers.
Celebrated each March, National Professional Social Work Month is an opportunity for social workers across the country to turn the spotlight on the profession and highlight the important contributions they make to society. Our nation’s almost 700,000 social workers have amazing tenacity and talent.
They confront some of the most challenging issues facing individuals, families, communities, and society and forge solutions that help people reach their full potential and make our nation a better place to live.

Yearbook Senior Tributes

Senior Tributes for 2021 Yearbook – As everybody knows, the Class of 2021 has not had the senior year they all imagined. From online learning to virtual pep rallies, students have certainly not experienced the senior year they expected. However, there is still one tradition enduring the unknown circumstances of this school year. Senior tributes are one part of senior year that you can count on through photos and written sentiments. In these unpredictable times, make sure to remember and encapsulate this time in your senior’s life. Take this opportunity to recognize his or her accomplishments with a personal tribute in the 2021 edition of the Spring Valley yearbook, Saga. This yearbook is one of the few celebrations of the Class of 2021, let your student remember all the special people and happenings from high school. Personal tributes are available in a variety of sizes and prices.

The 74th annual session of the American Legion Auxiliary Palmetto Girls State is now accepting applications for delegate selection. Each year, ALA PGS is held to provide a unique forum for the state’s rising high school senior girls to learn about government and the political process. This year’s PGS will be held virtually from Sunday, June 13, to Friday, June 18. ALA PGS allows young women to expand their leadership skills and meet other outstanding young women from across the state. Some delegates even form lifelong bonds from their time at ALA PGS.
It is an honor to be selected as a delegate to American Legion Auxiliary Palmetto Girls State. The American Legion and its Auxiliary sponsor Boys and Girls State to educate our youth in the duties, privileges, rights, and responsibilities of American citizenship. State programs are held nationally, and alumni of these programs are known and recognized nationwide for their academic achievement and civic leadership.
