This is mandated by state law and written in our bylaws which are available upon request. Each year, two parent/guardian representatives from each grade level serve on SIC.

For the 2022-2023 school year Parents/Guardians of Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, and Senior students are invited to submit their name(s) for election. In effort to slow the spread of COVID-19, we are requesting that NOMINATIONS be submitted ONLINE or by completing the Self-Nomination Form IN PERSON and dropping it in the SIC BALLOT BOX in the atrium area. The safety of our families/students/faculty & staff is our top priority. Completed self-nomination forms are due by September 22, 2022.

Senior Painted Parking Spots 2022-2023

WATER BASED EXTERIOR LATEX paint is the only type of paint that can be used. Students will also need to leave an approximately four inch unpainted border between the white parking space lines and the paint in their parking spot. Please use blue painters’ tape to ensure this border is accomplished.

The Spring Valley Education Foundation, in conjunction with the administration of Spring Valley High School, is offering a unique opportunity for the Senior students. Seniors are invited to paint their own parking spot to increase school pride and camaraderie. Students are encouraged to express themselves through positive artwork, to beautify the campus, to build school spirit, to begin a Senior tradition. As a byproduct, we believe this fundraiser will increase campus security. Having student’s park in reserved spots can also help identify unwelcome visitors to campus if they park in student spots.

Purchasing a Reserved Senior Parking Space allows the purchasing Senior student to personalize his/her assigned space by painting it. Funds raised will be collected by the Spring Valley Education Foundation to support the educational needs of
Spring Valley High School. Reserving and painting parking spaces is a privilege rather than a right. This fundraising opportunity will benefit many students, as well as provide convenience not previously afforded. “RESERVED” or parking spaces will continue to be available for Senior students who do not wish to purchase and decorate a parking spot.

• Must be current with all fees and charges
• Must have completed Alive at 25 Program
• Must purchase a SVHS parking pass for 2022-2023 school year

A special thank you goes out to the Spring Valley Education Foundation for funding this important initiative.
