Winter Days 2025: Thank You, Viking Nation! šŸ’ššŸ’›šŸŽ„

As our Winter Days school-wide community outreach comes to a close, we want to extend our heartfelt appreciation to every student, staff member, family, and community partner who contributed. Your generosity and commitment continue to make Winter Days one of Spring Valley’s most meaningful traditions.

Since 1984, Winter Days has remained the largest annual community outreach initiative at Spring Valley High School. This beloved project unites our Viking community in service—supporting local agencies, families in need, and organizations that rely on our care and compassion.

Each year, our committee chairs work closely with community partners to identify needs, set collection goals, and coordinate a wide range of charitable drives. Their leadership—paired with the overwhelming generosity of our students and families—allows us to make a lasting impact throughout the Midlands.

This year’s outreach included donations toward:

We are proud to share that, once again, our students exceeded their goals in every category! Your donations directly support families facing real challenges and uplift our community when it matters most.

Winter Days brings out the very best of Viking Nation—compassion, service, unity, and the true spirit of giving.

Thank you for helping us keep this cherished legacy alive and impactful.

Together, we continue to make a difference. šŸ’ššŸ’›āœØ

SCHOOL AND COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT:

The following school partnerships were instrumental in assisting Spring Valley Winter Days in their giving efforts. Many of our partner schools hosted mini Winter Days programs in their respective schools, allowing students to see firsthand what it means to give to others who are less fortunate.

A Perfect Start to the Spring Valley Academic Quiz Team’s Year šŸ§ šŸ’ššŸ’›

The Spring Valley Academic Quiz Team kicked off the Midlands Collaborative regular season in impressive fashion on Monday, December 8th, at Camden High School, earning two decisive victories to start the year undefeated.

Match Results:

Team members who competed in these matches were Vedant Pinglikar (12), Jacob Etheridge (10), Jaxon Hale (10), Sebastian Jones (9), Kingsley Wang (9), Myles Dennis (9), and Manish Gobinath Vimala (9). Their strong teamwork, quick thinking, and depth of knowledge were on full display throughout both competitions.

The Academic Quiz Team is coached by Dr. Michelle Wyatt and practices every Friday during lunch in Room C205.

Congratulations to our Quiz Team on an outstanding start to the season. We look forward to cheering them on as they continue to represent Spring Valley with excellence! šŸ’ššŸ’›
