FALL EXAM SCHEDULE

For students enrolled in Algebra 1, Biology, English 2, and US History and Constitution for 1st Semester, students will be completing their State End Of Course Examination (EOC). The EOC for these classes is a State mandated, comprehensive assessment that is worth 20% of the total grade. Due to the nature of this assessment there are a number of rules and procedures that must be followed by both staff and students. Please be aware of the following information for all EOC Exams:

EOC Testing will begin with our English 2 Writing portion on Thursday, December 5th. The conclusion of the English 2 EOC, as well as all other EOCs, will follow the Semester 1 Exam Schedule. If you have any questions regarding the EOC, please contact the School Testing Coordinator, Mr. Joshua Dundr.

The Valley Presents… A Nutcracker Christmas! 🎄✨

The magic, the music, the giving — it all begins NOW!

Winter Days has been a cherished Spring Valley tradition since 1984, and it remains the largest annual school-wide community outreach initiative at Spring Valley High School. This beloved project brings together students, staff, and families in support of local agencies and schools in need.

Each year, our committee chairs connect with community partners to identify needs, set collection goals, and coordinate a wide range of charitable drives. Their leadership—paired with the generous spirit of our Viking community—helps us make a lasting impact on families and organizations throughout the Midlands.

This year, as many families continue to face challenges meeting basic needs, your support matters more than ever. Please see the attached flyers for suggested donation items. Every contribution, big or small, helps us spread hope and joy this holiday season.

Spring Valley will also serve as a community drop-off location for non-perishable food items. All donations will be sorted, packaged, and promptly delivered to local food pantries and outreach agencies.

If you know Spring Valley students or families in immediate need, please contact our School Social Worker, Mrs. Morgan Daniels, at modaniels@richland2.org.

Spring Valley DECA Shines at Regional Competition! 💼💚💛

On November 12th, 16 Spring Valley students proudly represented our DECA chapter at the Regional DECA Competition — and they crushed it!

Competing in rigorous business events, students were challenged with a 100-question exam and a role-play scenario, where they had just 10 minutes to develop and present a professional solution to a judge. Their performance showed outstanding preparation, confidence, and skill.

We are excited to announce that 12 of our competitors placed in their events! Their hard work, professionalism, and creativity truly demonstrated the best of Viking Pride and the spirit of future business leaders.

A huge congratulations to all our DECA members, led by Heather Failla, for an incredible showing — and best of luck to those advancing to the State Competition!

Spring Valley Environmental Assistance Organization Hosts Annual Trashion Show ♻️✨

On October 29th, the Spring Valley Environmental Assistance Organization (EAO) held their annual Trashion Show, and once again, our Vikings brought creativity, style, and purpose to the runway!

Students designed and showcased incredible costumes made from recycled and repurposed materials, proving that sustainability can be both innovative and fun.

Even more inspiring, the group raised over $300 to support relief efforts for the victims of Typhoon Halong in Alaska.
