Winter Days Have Begun! ❄️💚💛
The Valley presents… A Nutcracker Christmas!
The magic, the music, the giving — it all begins NOW!
Winter Days has been a cherished Spring Valley tradition since 1984, and it continues to be the largest annual school-wide community outreach initiative at Spring Valley High School.
Each year, the project brings our entire Viking community together through a variety of charitable drives supporting multiple local organizations. Committee chairs work hard to identify agency needs, set collection goals, and lead the meaningful and rewarding challenge of coordinating this extensive effort.
Let the season of giving begin at The Valley! 🎄✨
WAYS TO GIVE
SVHS Students Win First Place at JA Stock Market Challenge! 📈🏆
On November 4th, students from Spring Valley participated in the Junior Achievement Stock Market Challenge, held at Stone River in West Columbia. The event kicked off with a career panel featuring professionals from the finance career cluster, giving students valuable insight into careers in business, investing, and financial planning.
Following the panel, students took part in a live stock market simulation, competing against other schools in a fast-paced, real-world investing scenario. Our Vikings showed incredible teamwork and strategy — walking away with 1st place for the Midlands division! 💚💛
If their portfolio remains in the top two after the Upstate and Lowcountry divisions compete, they will be one of the teams selected to travel to Boston to compete at Nationals.
Congratulations to our students for this outstanding achievement — and good luck as we await the final standings! 📊✨ #VikingPride #JASMC #FutureInvestors
Vikings Are Region Champions! 🏆💚💛
For the first time since 2021, the Spring Valley Vikings are Region Champions! Our athletes delivered an incredible performance, showcasing hard work, determination, and true Viking spirit.
👏 Outstanding races from:
- Joseph
- Noah
- Ryan
- Ethan
- Andrew – JV Region Champion!
For many of our runners, this was their final race. While not every time was a personal best, the meet was filled with the same energy, teamwork, and excitement that has defined the season.
A huge shoutout to our amazing parents for supporting the team every single year—through every meet, every mile, and every moment. We appreciate you!
Congratulations, Vikings! 💚💛

SVHS FBLA Attends SC FBLA State Fall Leadership Conference 💼💜
Members of Spring Valley FBLA attended the SC FBLA State Fall Leadership Conference, where they participated in a full day of leadership development, networking, and service.
FBLA students Ethan Bell and Dhruv Bavishi, along with advisers Mrs. DuBose and Mrs. Wilbur-Hemphill, are pictured during the conference’s Mini-Walk to End Alzheimer’s—a meaningful event that raised awareness and advocated for global research to end Alzheimer’s and other dementia-related diseases.
Throughout the conference, attendees engaged in leadership workshops, participated in a networking lunch, and connected with business leaders and peers from across the state. FBLA continues to inspire and prepare students to become community-minded business leaders through hands-on career preparation and leadership experiences.

Entrepreneurship Students Learn from Local Business Owner Jacquard L. Daniels 💼✨
Spring Valley’s Entrepreneurship students had the inspiring opportunity to hear from Jacquard L. Daniels, owner and operator of The Experience Salon and Spa in Columbia, South Carolina. With over 13 years as a licensed cosmetologist, Mr. Daniels shared his remarkable journey—one that includes opening two successful salons, studying Business Administration at Benedict College, and continuously investing in his growth through business, leadership, and professional development coursework.
Mr. Daniels encouraged students to embrace challenges, learn from their mistakes, and believe in their potential as future entrepreneurs. He also discussed his new work as a life coach, helping others build emotional intelligence and a success-focused mindset.
One of his key messages to students:
“I’d rather learn through my mistakes than keep making the same mistake because I’m not learning.”
He reminded students that their dreams are valid, their emotions matter, and their journey is only beginning.
Learn from it. Grow through it. And always bet on yourself.
Thank you, Mr. Daniels, for motivating our Vikings to pursue their dreams with confidence and resilience! 💚💛
