Spring Valley High School Earth Club build composting bins
The Spring Valley High School Earth Club built two composting bins using upcycled pallets during an April workshop. Composting helps reduce food waste and manage yard debris while creating a rich soil amendment for gardens.
According to officials, Jennifer Mancke, Green Step Schools mentor for the Richland Soil and Water Conservation District (RSWCD), worked with the students to help build the composite bins. A Conservation Education Mini-Grant from RSWCD provided funding for the project.
