MAKE UP DAY TO PICK UP CAP & GOWNS
Reminder Testing April 5th
On Tuesday, April 5th, we are conducting school wide testing and will follow an alternative schedule that day. Testing will only be in the morning that day and students will attend their 5th – 8th period classes after lunch. School will begin at the normal 8:40 am that day, with Early Bird classes meeting at 7:30 am.
Below is a breakdown of the test day activities for each grade on Tuesday, April 5th:
- All Freshmen students will be taking their final administration of the MAP Reading and Math assessments (please bring your charged Chromebook!)
- All Juniors will be taking the ACT WorkKeys career readiness assessment (refer to email sent earlier about this assessment).
- Sophomores and Seniors will be participating in a variety of activities that morning related to Applying for College, a student club fair, and a motivational guest speaker.
Freshmen and Juniors will receive emails on Monday, April 4th, with their April 5th testing room location. Freshmen and Juniors will report directly to their testing rooms at 8:40 am that day. Sophomores and Seniors will report to the main gym at 8:40 am.
We will send an exact schedule for 5th – 8th periods once testing has concluded on April 5th.
Powder Puff Football
The powderpuff game schedule for Monday, April 5th has been postponed. We are shooting for the 25th, pending approval. This would allow more people to participate. Please stay tuned for updates, or email rshelton@richland2.org

Theater 2 Play: The Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon
Come see the Theater 2 class performance of “The Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon (One Act)” by Don Zolidis on Friday, April 1st at 7pm. Admission is free! The Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon (One Act) features two narrators attempting to recreate all 209 of the fairy tales of the Brothers Grimm in a wild, hilarious, fast-paced extravaganza. To make it really interesting, they attempt to link them all together in one gigantic story from Cinderella to Hansel and Gretel to Rumpelstiltskin and Snow White and throwing in some very weird and obscure ones in there like Lean Lisa and Faithful Johannes. Come spend April Fools Day laughing with us!
The Green & Gold Spring Submissions

Premier Princess
Premier Princess is an opportunity for us to create a boutique experience for young ladies in Richland Two that are interested in participating in prom, but may not have the financial means to do so. The goal is to provide a personalized shopping experience that allows them to select a dress, shoes, and accessories for the prom. Students may also receive complimentary prom tickets, beauty services, and gift certificates
to match. Let’s work together to erase the stigma surrounding donations by creating the experience of a lifetime for our deserving students!

HIGH SCHOOL SUMMER SCHOOL
Sparkleberry Lane Construction
We wanted to let all of our families know that we will be experiencing some traffic issues on Sparkleberry Lane in front of the school over the next 2-3 months. Richland County will be making updates to the gas lines, storm drains, and adding sidewalks. Work crews will do their best to minimize the impact to arrival and departure times at school. If you are a car rider or student driver, we strongly encourage you to arrive early to school to make sure you are on time for class.
After School Tutoring
We will offer both on-campus and virtual tutoring options this year. Offering both platforms allows us to provide more options for students to get academic assistance after school. Please visit the SVHS Tutoring website for a complete schedule of the tutoring opportunities.
A special thank you goes out to the Spring Valley Education Foundation for funding this important initiative.
