Interested in Boys Cross Country?
Any boys interested in cross country for this fall, contact Coach Oberly at moberly@richland2.org. Cross country is a great sport where athletes learn about distance running and are a part of a great team. Cross country is a no cut sport and everyone gets to participate. Athletes must have an athletic physical to begin practicing and it must be uploaded to PlanetHS. The first official practice of the 2021 season will be Tuesday August 3rd, 7:15am-8:45am, at Sesqui State Park. If you have any questions please contact Coach Oberly at moberly@richland2.org.
Discovery Students Chosen as South Carolina Delegates for the 2022 AJAS Conference
Discovery students Brantley Aycock (11), Scott Dillon (12), Shyam Ganesh Babu (12), Madison Han (11), and Sanjana Parise (12) have been selected as South Carolina delegates to attend and present at the 2022 American Junior Academy of Science (AJAS) meeting held in conjunction with the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) national meeting in February in Philadelphia, PA. The format of the meeting will be announced at a later date. The nominees this year were selected based on having achieved high distinction in both their written research papers and oral presentations (virtual) at the 2021 South Carolina Junior Academy of Science competition. Calling all Freshmen and Sophomores- Fresh Start is on August 17th!
We will be hosting Fresh Start for the Class of 2025 and 2024 on August 17th. Fresh Start gives incoming freshmen and new students the opportunity to come on campus a day early to see where their classes are and to participate in several fun activities. This year we would like to welcome both the Class of 2025 and the 2024 to Fresh Start. Stay tuned for more information about this event in August.
