FRESH START: NOVEMBER 2ND

We are excited to host Fresh Start on Monday, November 2, 2020 for our Freshman.  This opportunity will allow students to experience a “trial run” prior to their official return beginning on Wednesday, November 4th.  Students will be able to meet their teachers and classmates in person on this day.  Social distancing practices will be in place to ensure student safety while on campus.  Breakfast and lunch will be served free of charge to all students attending Fresh Start. 

For those who signed up to come to Fresh Start received an email confirmation today.  Please contact Paul Dobyns at pdobyns@richland2.org for additional information or questions.

Students will be able to “attend” virtually through Google Meet as well.

Congratulations to Our AP Students

THANKS to our partnership with the National Math and Science Initiative, (189) of our students are receiving at least $100 for scoring a 3 or better on their AP Exams. The courses include AP English Language, AP Calculus AB/BC, AP Statistics, AP Biology, AP Chemistry, AP Environmental Science, and AP Physics. In all, students were awarded a total of $35,600 for their hard work. Thank you to our amazing teachers for all of their efforts to ensure that our students did well. If you are one of those students who are in this group, please stop by the main office to pick up your checks from Mrs. Watts.   

Student Medication Drop-Off

If your child is on a medication that MUST be given during school hours or has Emergency Meds such as EpiPens, Auvi-Q, Diastat, Seizure, ADHD meds, or Inhalers (including self-carry) please read the following carefully:

Medications may be brought to the front atrium of the school as follows:

Tuesday, October 27th  thru Friday, October 30th from  8:00 AM – 1:30 PM

Remember, all meds must have a Medication Form signed by the MD and Parent, and must be in the original containers.  All controlled substances will need to be counted.  Please allow additional time as may be necessary.

We kindly ask that you avoid bringing in supplemental meds such as Tylenol, Advil, etc…  to avoid unnecessary trips to the nurse. Remember, if your child is feeling sick, they must stay home.

You have until 5:00 pm on Thursday, Oct. 29th to enter the lottery. You must be signed into your Richland Two email account to enter the lottery. Please note, entering the lottery is not a guarantee that you will receive a reserved parking space. There are a limited number of senior reserved parking spaces in the Atrium and Tennis lots and they will be assigned randomly on Friday morning, Oct. 30th. You have until 5:00 pm on Thursday, Oct. 29th to enter the lottery.

You must be signed into your Richland Two e-mail account to enter the lottery. Please note, entering the lottery is not a guarantee that you will receive a reserved parking space. Students who do not receive a reserved space will be issued a parking tag for the upper lot. You are only allowed to enter the lottery once. You must be classified as a “Senior” — i.e. in 12th grade — on August 31st to be eligible for consideration. You can pick up your parking tag beginning Monday, the first day of Phase 2 for students at 9:00 am in C-148 from Mr. Jackson.

Seniors who receive a reserved parking space through the lottery have two weeks from the first day of in person classes of Phase 2 to claim their tag. After this day, the space will be given up to the next eligible lottery senior. You must have the “SV Parking Agreement Form” completed and signed before you will be issued a tag.

Over two years, students can earn enough to cover education expenses with careful planning.

You must be classified as a “Senior” — i.e. in 12th grade — on August 31st to be eligible for consideration. You can pick up your parking tag beginning Monday, the first day of Phase 2 for students at 9:00 am in C-148 from Mr. Jackson.

Seniors who receive a reserved parking space through the lottery have two weeks from the first day of in person classes of Phase 2 to claim their tag. After this day, the space will be given up to the next eligible lottery senior. You must have the “SV Parking Agreement Form” completed and signed before you will be issued a tag.

SV Student Section Protocols for Football Games

“Students welcome to the New and Improved Student Body Section for Home Football games.  It will be located in the second and third sections of the stadium next to the band.  Each section will be two-thirds of a section from bottom to top.  It will be marked.  Remember parents and spectators will be sitting behind you so I expect us to be on our best Spring Valley Behavior.  District Protocol will be in effect so all students need to be wearing a mask over the mouth and nose and we will be social distancing in the stands.  All spectators should be seated 6 feet from each other horizontally and a row skipped vertically.  Please follow these protocols and Go Vikings.
